🌞 Day 1 — Cambridge & the Beef Bourguignon Redemption
“A day that began with nerves, and ended in laughter and stew.”
I woke up at 5 a.m. without an alarm, heart fluttering like a fiddle
tune.
Charlie was arriving today — somewhere between sky and planet —
and I was a swirl of nerves, hope, and caffeine.
The sunrise from Cambridge to Heathrow was a watercolor of honey and
lavender, as if Scotland herself whispered,
> “Aye, make it a good one.”
When we finally met, the world clicked into focus.
Brunch at the top-rated Half Cup café near King’s Cross felt like a
dream — Oreo pancakes, fried-chicken waffles, and
smoothies shared between laughs.
Later, the London sun, in rare generosity, smiled down upon us.
By evening, Cambridge called us home, where our culinary ambition
simmered in a pot: Beef Bourguignon à la Chaos.
It was perfect — until we realised we were locked out.
Standing outside, holding a pot of French glory, we looked at each other
like tragic poets in a domestic comedy. Love is… waiting for me to
fetch the spare key while your dinner loses its steam. 🥹🥂
